Afternoon Ride

Feel slow today but I guess it's just because I'm not any faster.

Because I have a leftie fork that needed serviced, I couldn't go to my normal bike shop.  Angry Dave's was backed up a month so Cannondale told me to take it to J & P.  Mickey was really nice and I told him I needed three things: the front shock sent off to Cannondale for service, the clutch rebuilt in the derailleur, and check the bottom bracket as it got real tight during the Arkansas Graveler but had since freed up.  I told him not to worry about the rear flat as I discovered a sidewall puncture as I was loading it up to take to his shop and have a spare at home.

I called after several weeks of silence and he told me it was ready except for the rear tire.  I asked about the derailleur and BB and he said he wouldn't do the derailleur but would check the BB and that I could come get it the following day.  I went in a few days later and he said he didn't find anything wrong with the BB, he spun the crank and it got tight once but that was because the chain came off.  WTF?  I guess he thinks I'm an idiot.  Looking at my formerly stock bike something was off and he informed me that he had lost my headset so replaced it with a different one.  What could I do, I paid him and left.

Because of my recent move today was the first time to ride my bike.  Immediately I found that the stem was loose - inexcusable, that kills people.  Tightened that up and noticed my shock was full squish, locker doesn't work.  Started my ride and front brake cable rubs the front tire, he lost the stock cable stays and so put a ziptie around the fork.  I've never been so mad at a shop.  This will probably be the first time I actually go back and scream at one.
And this is Cannondale's fault.  They forced me to use this jackass instead of allowing me to send in my shock myself.  Last Cannondale bike ever.
