Such a mixed bag of skills to get up and down these gnarliest of standard 14’er routes, I can never decide what to record them as. Ran a bit of the lower mountain. Then it turns from power hike to rock climb. Then the descent is so exposed, loose, and techy even that has quite a bit of walking (at least for me anyway).

North Maroon is one of Colorado’s more dangerous mountains and getting up and down it is fairly tedious. We only saw two other people on the upper mountain and it was a guide and client decked out in full mountaineering kits with helmets, harnesses, and carrying ropes.
